The Spring of Sta. Maria

One of the great experiences visiting Sta. Maria
is seeing the presence of wild ferns everywhere.
The trees in Sta. Maria also make the place a
little cooler than other barangays in Olutanga.
There is also a little spring in Sta. Maria.
This is about 200 meters from the basketball court.
Have you been to this place?

The Bamboo Footbridge of Noque

One of the most captivating sights that is a product of community effort is
the bamboo footbridge of Noque.
This is Olutanga's bet for the beautification contest for
the whole province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Very close to nature, the colorful bamboo footbridge connects two adjacent hills.
In its end is one colorful nipa hut which is ideal for
community meetings and barkada gatherings.

The Spring of Kahayagan

A hidden spring of water which serves the people of Kahayagan in so many ways,
especially bathing and laundry,
can be seen just before the elementary school of Kahayagan.
The people of Kahayagan call this place "balon" -
meaning, underground water that is held in the soil and in pervious rocks.

Horse Fighting in Noque

Horse Fighting is one of the fiesta spectacles in Olutanga that is sure to draw crowd. It entails two stallions that are incited to fight each other over a mare in season. They bite, kick, and strike each other with their hooves until one of them submits or flees. This is billed as a cultural tradition specific to indigenous communities.

The Bamboo Hut of Matim

The Municipality of Olutanga has so many beautiful sights to offer. One of its beautiful attractions is the Bamboo Hut of Matim. This is approximately 10 minutes habal-habal ride from the town proper. The best time to visit this place is during high tide as its surrounding mangrove area looks even more beautiful when partly submerged in sea waters.
